The 2002 Health Survey for England found that 30% of boys and 39% of girls aged 2 to 15 are still not reaching their recommended levels of physical activity to benefit their health. All children and young people should participate in:
· A minimum of one hour of at least moderate intensity physical activity every day
· In addition, at least twice a week, all children and young people should take part in activities that help to develop muscular strength, flexibility and bone health.
· Those who are not active or currently do very little activity should aim to take part in at least half an hour of moderate activity per day and gradually work towards reaching the one hour target
Hoop Hoop Hooray is interested in building up the fitness levels of children. Hooping is an activity that they can enjoy during our structured classes, but also something they can practice at home, at school or wherever they choose to take their hoop!
Children’s Courses will be starting on:
Monday 6th September 2010
At:
Samuel Montagu Youth Club, 122 Broad Walk, Kidbrooke, SE3 8ND
Time:
5:30pm
Price:

Children will learn how to do moves and tricks with a hoop – from hooping around the waist, hips and knees; to performing lifts and turns with the hoop. They will also play games and learn dance routines while hooping. Once they have mastered this, they will have the opportunity to create their own hooping games and choreograph their own dance routines.
Spaces are limited, so to add your child’s name to the list, fill in the form below.....
